Remember that 2.5" is the "diagonal" width of the LCD from one corner to the opposite one. The protector is ensured to be clean and free from particles as you have to remove a plastic coating from each side first. There appears to be some dimming of the LCD brightness after the protector was applied, but I'm not certain. Overall, this is a great value and product that I'd recommend to protect your camera!
